Powered via FireWire - not a wall wart
The UltraGB+ is a Bus-Powered FireWire 800 (400 compatible) storage device. That's right ...bus-powered, needing NO AC ADAPTER. This
is an industry first, and WiebeTech exclusively sells UltraGB+, the only product with this feature for 3.5" IDE drives. Plug your drive into a
FireWire port, turn it on, and you're ready! The only requirement is adequate power from the host FireWire port*. Most FireWire ports provide
enough power, but some (like 4 pin iLink ports) provide no power at all. For more information about bus-power, see our Bus-Power White

Attaches to virtually any PC or Mac
Two FireWire 800 ports are daisy-chainable and fully compatible with FireWire 400. It also has a USB2 port and ships with an AC
adapter to make sure it works on as many computers as possible. The AC adapter is needed for use with USB or if a FireWire port is
under powered.
Simple to use
UltraGB+ is designed to be simple to use. Even while bus-powered it functions just like any other desktop drive. All drives are 7200 RPM,
providing the same high performance as other WiebeTech desktop enclosures.
Tough, durable, quiet enclosure
Your car has shock absorbers, so why not your hard drive? UltraGB+ has FlexMount™ shock absorbers to protect the hard drive, as
well as your data, from external bumps and vibrations. The aluminum case provides durability as well as heat dissipation. This also
means quiet performance since vibration is prevented from reaching the drive and internal drive noise is isolated from the shell of the
enclosure. In addition, UltraGB+ is fanless, for even quieter operation.
Plug and Play
UltraGB+ works right out of the box with no new drivers needed. It works with any modern operating system
including Mac OS 9.1, 9.2, OS X and Windows 2K, XP, as well as any distribution of Linux that supports
FireWire or USB. If using FireWire, additional FireWire devices can be daisy-chained through UltraGB+.
* Intel Macs provide less FireWire bus power than previous models. An AC Adapter is usually required for use with Intel iMacs and the 17" MacBook Pro. UltraGB+ will bus power with 15" MacBook Pro. If you want a portable drive, check out ToughTech mini

Dual FireWire Ports
