Extreme hardware
When you need huge amounts of storage in a small space and fast FireWire speed for a low price, the new TrayDock Extreme lets
you have it all. With two or four bays for hard drives supporting IDE drives, TrayDock Extreme is an ideal member of your computing arsenal for those
high-capacity jobs such as multimedia editing, server storage, backups and more.
Extreme capacity
Automatic support is provided to RAID the drives together so you see only one volume mounted on the desktop. Or, if you want, a flip
of a switch will let you use the enclosure as a JBOD (just a bunch of disks) and each drive will mount individually on the desktop.
Extreme speed
With three ports on the rear panel, (two are FireWire 800 and one is FireWire 400), you can daisy-chain other hard drives or attach other
FireWire peripherals. FireWire is fast - up to 800 Mbps, making TrayDock Extreme ideal for audio and video editors.
Front-accessible, reloadable and lockable trays
You're never without access to the individual hard drives. Unlike competitive products which embed RAIDed drives within a difficult-to-repair
sealed enclosure, TrayDock Extreme allows all drives to be easily reloaded from the front of the unit. And if you're using it as a
JBOD, it's hot-swappable, so you can swap any drive without having to restart your computer. (You will, however, need to cycle TrayDock Extreme's power).
Plug and Play
TrayDock Extreme works right out of the box with no new drivers needed. It works with any modern operating system
including Mac OS 9.1, 9.2, OS X and Windows 2K, XP, as well as any distribution of Linux that supports
FireWire or USB. If using FireWire, additional FireWire devices can be daisy-chained through TrayDock Extreme.
