A barrel of bytes
For demanding situations the standard two G5 hard drives just doesn't cut it. The G5Jam+ removes this limitation by allowing you to use four more drives internally and four more externally - for a total of up to 10 drives on your G5*. There's no other product like the G5Jam+.

Video editors, listen up
You can RAID these drives in software for stunning mountable volume sizes and read/write speeds. Striping (RAID 0) ten 400GB drives would give you a 5 Terabyte volume with write speeds in excess of 500MB per second!




Yeah, it's cool
Because we designed G5Jam+ with system cooling in mind, overheating isn't an issue. Machined from solid aluminum, the entire G5Jam baffle acts as a large heatsink, pulling heat into G5Jam+ and away from the drives. We also shaped our air baffle to complement Apple's design - keeping air flowing across the PCI cards the way it is intended.

Installation
Our kit includes a replacement air baffle/cooling system and an 8 port Serial ATA PCI card (four internal, four external) along with the power and SATA cabling you'll need to hook up your new drives. Installation is very easy - simply remove Apple's air baffle and ours goes in its place. Up to four new drives can mount onto our baffle for a total of six internal drives.

*Unfortunately, G5Jam and G5Jam+ are incompatible with Apple's new dual core and quad (dual Dual Core) processor computers. For more drives in a Dual Core G5 check out G5Jam Express.

Replacement G5 Air Baffle

This improved baffle allows mounting of four additional drives in the G5. Constructed from mirror aluminum, it also serves as an extraordinary heat sink for the additional internal drives which are mounted to the new air baffle.

Additional Storage Capacity

G5Jam+ allows up to 3 Terabytes of storage to be mounted inside the G5 and 2 Terabytes outside the G5, for a total of 5 Terabytes.

Supports OS X Soft RAID

We have measured performance in excess of 500MB/s. Drives may also be configured individually or in groups of RAIDs.

Supports HD Editing

Will support 1080i 10bit under Final Cut Pro.

Includes SATA Adapter Card

May be installed in any open PCI slot within the G5. Supports up to four additional internal and four external SATA drives.

Uses Minimal Internal Space

G5Jam+ occupies space which normally supports full length PCI cards in slots 1, 2 and 3. Therefore, PCI Slots 1, 2 and 3 are restricted to short length cards. Slot 4 may be a full length card.
