A barrel of bytes
For demanding situations the standard two G5 hard drives just doesn't cut it. The G5Jam removes this limitation by allowing you to use up to four drives inside your G5*.

Video editors, listen up
You can RAID these drives in software for stunning mountable volume sizes and read/write speeds. Striping (RAID 0) four 500GB drives gives you a 2 Terabyte volume with write speeds in excess of 200MB per second!




Yeah, it's cool
Because we designed G5Jam with system cooling in mind, overheating isn't an issue. Machined from solid aluminum, the entire G5Jam baffle acts as a large heatsink, pulling heat into G5Jam and away from the drives. We also shaped our air baffle to complement Apple's design - keeping air flowing across the PCI cards the way it is intended.

Installation
Our kit includes a replacement air baffle/cooling system and a 2 internal port Serial ATA PCI card along with the power and SATA cabling you'll need to hook up your new drives. Installation is very easy - simply remove Apple's air baffle and ours goes in its place. Up to two new drives can mount onto G5Jam for a total of four internal drives.

*Unfortunately, G5Jam and G5Jam+ are incompatible with Apple's new Dual Core and quad (dual Dual Core) processor computers. For more drives in a Dual Core G5 check out G5Jam Express.

Replacement G5 Air Baffle

This improved baffle allows mounting of two additional drives in the G5. It is constructed from mirror aluminum and preserves the original internal air flow of the G5. It also serves as an extraordinary heat sink for the two additional drives which are mounted to the new air baffle.

Additional Storage Capacity

Allows up to 2 Terabytes of storage to be mounted inside the G5.

Supports OS X Soft RAID

Provides performance in excess of 200MB/sec. Drives may also be configured individually.

Supports HD Editing

Has been tested with 1080i 10bit under Final Cut Pro in a variety of demanding edits. (May support 1080i across the entire disk map - performance does degrade as written cylinder count increases.)

Includes SATA Adapter Card

May be installed in any open PCI slot within the G5. Supports up to 2 additonal SATA drives.
